Not really sure if I like Sonic Unleashed or not yet. It has its annoyances, chiefly among which how Sonic doesn't seem able in either form to turn on the spot; changing direction from north to south will involve a small movement north and either east or west, which may cause you to fall off a ledge if you're trying to, say, collect rings scattered around the circumference of a platform. The game just feels a little... clunky, and as usual since I played Sonic Adventure on a 50Hz PAL TV, Sonic moves too fucking fast.
Still, it's Sonic, and it's fun enough. Plus there's occasionally some amusing lampshading going on to deal with the weirdness of Sonic's world. The incident that prompted me to post this journal was one where, after completing a mission for a hot dog seller where I had to collect 100 rings, said sausage merchant marvelled at how Sonic was able to hold so many. 'Where do you put them?'
